SIAM Fighting FAKE at the 12th Auto Expo 2014

 

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) rolled up their sleeves to combat the issue of Counterfeiting of Auto-Parts by forming an Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG). The group was determined to educate and create awareness amongst public at large by spreading the word at the 12th Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2014.

 

In this SIAM initiative an online interactive activity called ‘Say it with a slogan’ was launched to connect with the young and tech savvy visitors. SIAM engaged visitors via three ‘SIAM Fighting Fake’ stalls which were placed at prime locations aroImageund the venue. Every stall had an interactive digital kiosk with Social Media integration to engage visitors in the campaign. Visitors were asked to share their slogan supporting use of only genuine parts and best of the slogans were rewarded on the spot. 

A painting competition based on Real v/s Fake theme was also conducted at various schools in Delhi and Mumbai for kids of class 5th to 9th. The best of the paintings were rewarded and displayed at each of the three stalls.

Further to the above engagement activities three Pledge Walls were placed at the venue, two of which were Visitor Pledge Walls placed next to the stalls and a SIAM Pledge Wall placed near the VIP Lounge. The Visitor Pledge Wall motivated visitors to sign and promise to only use genuine spare parts for their vehicle. Industry Leaders, CEOs and Senior Officials such as Mr. Vikram Kirloskar, (President SIAM), Mr. Rajesh Bagga (Chairman SIAM ACG) and Mr. R S Kalsi (Co-Chairman SIAM ACG), Mr. Takashi Kikuchi (President ISUZU) and many more participated in the initiative by signing on the SIAM Pledge Wall.

Spreading the message in an entertaining and fun way always proves to be impactful, so was the Groovy, high-octane, professionally choreographed, crowd pulling dance performances based on Anti-Counterfeiting theme, staged on 8th and 9th February 2014. In support to our message of only opting for genuine parts, the performers displayed placards relaying the campaign message throughout the performance. An emcee acted as the voice of the activity, communicating the essence of the ACG campaign. Various freebies were also distributed, in all SIAM ACG activities, to the participants.

We urge you to join hands with SIAM and support this cause. Help us save the country’s economy from such fraudulent practices.
